Class B RVs are a Van and Vacation in One

How did Class B RVs get their name? We don't know because there's nothing about them that deserves a 'B' ranking. Set up as a luxury van, Class B RVs are as easy to drive around town as they are on the highway. They can be parked more easily off back-country roads than a Class A RV and still offer the conveniences of sleeping, cooking and relaxing in the vehicle.

Class B RVs are ready to hit the road today. All you have to do is a little grocery shopping, throw in a bag or two and you're on your way to an adventure. These vehicles are vans that have been expanded to what amounts to a hotel suite. They have the features of a regular car, but the extension allows for two people to live comfortably on the road headed to any destination. More deluxe models have room for four, which is perfect for families.

You won't find most other RVs bringing in 18mpg. Being one unit as opposed to tow-along RVs that create a lot of wind friction, the aerodynamic build of these vehicles helps save fuel on long trips. Clearly, Class B RVs are designed to hit the road and spend more time playing than working, but they also maneuver easily around town when you do need to work to pay a few bills.

These vehicles are perfect for small families. They have ample space for kids to stretch out and relax as they are being shuttled to and from sporting events or after-school activities. The built-in bathroom makes for a lot less stopping on the road and quicker travel times. Let your kids entertain themselves with books and movies while you focus on the road.

The average length of a Class B RV is 16-21 feet which isn't much longer than some of the trucks and SUVs on the road. While it may seem hard to imagine, they offer space while being easy to park in any mall or shopping area. These RVs give you two vehicles in one. They are road warriors while at the same time working well as an around-town family car.

Buying a Class B RV won't break the bank. The starting price of around $30,000 is a lot cheaper than trying to buy a new car and paying for hotel and airfare for ten years of family vacations. It's an investment that will reward you with fond memories and adventures you can create through spur of the moment decisions to stop at unknown places, or a well planned itinerary that takes you exactly where you want to go and when. Used vehicles can also be a great investment, just be sure to have them checked out thoroughly first.

RVs have great financing incentives. Spread out payments over fifteen years for a solid investment that will pay back quickly. As another reason to buy, Class B RVs are considered the equivalent of a second home and as such qualify for tax breaks. Any qualified accountant can help you with the details.

Because Class B RVs are built on a van base, they are like driving a car. Power steering and cruise control are amenities you can enjoy as well as bringing all the comforts of home on the road.

We give Class B RVs as Class A ranking. As far as we're concerned, Class B RVs are the best vehicle on the road for an around-town car and on-the-road adventure vehicle. They are easy to maneuver, have better gas mileage than a Class A RV and will be taking you where you want to go for years to come.
